The board above comes from the system the University keeps up to date — current hours, last admissions and closing dates included. On days of academic ceremonies times can change at short notice, announced at the door.
The golden rule
The Joanina Library runs on timed entry, every 20 minutes, with a limited number of visitors per session. Your slot is printed on your ticket and it is kept to the minute: arrive 10 minutes early and the day runs like the Tower clock.
What the timetable does not say
- Entry to the Botanical Garden is free; the Great Greenhouse and guided tours are ticketed separately.
- The UC Exploratório often reserves weekday mornings for school groups — confirm when you book.
- Guided tours depart at their booked time, whatever the opening hours of the spaces they visit.
